Tea bushes are mentioned in Chinese literature 2700. years BC.
500. AD Buddhist monks brought tea to Japan. 621. AD Buddhism became the official religion in Japan, green tea is becoming a national Japanese drink.
Around 1600. , the tea comes to Europe thanks to the famous Netherlands East - Indian Company. They were followed by the English founding East - Indian company taking a monopoly for many years that followed.
1773. American citizens revolted against the high taxes on tea to them imposed by the government in London in protest in Boston Harbor threw with three English clippers at sea shipments of tea in an event later known as the Boston Tea Party. This act began the American Revolution.
In 1869. has been opened the Suez Canal which reduced the high fees on English ships carrying tea from distant China in London.
